VINYASA / FLOW

In this energizing and creative Vinyasa Flow style class, we will focus on linking breath to movement and music in order to build the body's internal heat, and exploring a variety of yoga postures designed to open, strengthen, and stretch the body, mind, and spirit. This class will clearly break down the postures and alignment, while providing variations and modifications suitable for all levels, as well as the option to take it up a notch and find your edge! My challenging yet creative sequencing is designed to stimulate the mind and body in order to bring you into the ultimate state of calm, connection, balance, and awareness.

YIN

Yin is a deep stretching and spiritual practice where we lie on the mat for the entire class and hold each pose for a long period of time, usually between 2 and 4 minutes per posture. The longer you hold the pose, the more time you allow for the gradual lengthening of the muscles, accessing of the fascia and connective tissues, and release of tension both in the body and in the mind. When you emerge from this practice, you will have given yourself a full body massage from the inside out – through deep breathing and the relaxing your body into stretches.

MEDITATION

Meditation is the practice of coming back to whatever is occurring in the present moment, which is always your breath. In the class, we will sit quietly through a partly guided, partly silent meditation in which we strengthen our ability to:

1) Become aware of our thoughts and the tendency for our minds to ruminate.

2) Direct our thoughts, attention, and energy where we want them to go, back to the present.
